1. A good probiotic must contain strains of bacteria described in detail with a specific numbering that indicates that the strain has been tested and the effectiveness of the strains must be confirmed. Example:

Lactobacillus acidophilus - no number, acceptable for yoghurt ingredients, but not very good for an effective probiotic.
